About

Foundations of DJing is a beginner-friendly introduction designed for people who want to learn DJing from scratch — even if you’ve never touched DJ equipment before. This course focuses on the skills every DJ needs before stepping behind the decks: how to listen to music like a DJ, understand song structure, count beats, build energy, and prepare tracks properly. You’ll learn how DJs think and prepare, without needing to buy any gear. You’ll start with short, easy-to-follow online lessons that guide you through the core foundations of DJing at your own pace. Once you’ve completed the online content, you’ll finish with a 90-minute in-class session, where everything comes together in a real DJ environment. By the end of the course, you’ll understand what DJs actually do, feel confident around DJ equipment, and know exactly what your next step should be — whether that’s continuing your DJ training or simply knowing DJing is right for you. This Course Is For You If: You’re completely new to DJing You don’t own DJ equipment yet You want to start the right way, without wasting money You’re curious about DJing but not sure where to begin You’ll Learn: How DJs listen to and analyse music Beat counting, phrasing, and song structure How DJs choose and prepare tracks How to build energy and flow in a set Basic DJ software navigation (no controller required) Format Self-paced online foundations (3 Hours) 1 × 90-minute in-class DJ session No equipment required Outcome Statement (Optional but Powerful) This course gives you the clarity and confidence to step into DJing the right way — prepared, informed, and ready.
